HEADING FOR MEMPHIS

We had a great time in Branson. Our RV park is located across from a state park which has paved walking trails along the lake - we enjoy walking that scenic trail. We went to the Shoji violinist show. His theater has the most beautiful bathrooms - voted best in USA and shown on the travel channel. On Sunday we went to the Silver Dollar Theme Park. They have 4 million Christmas lights throughout the park. We saw the Dickens Christmas Carol play, performances of Cajun Christmas music and good old fashioned Christmas music by Pure Heart (3 female singers) and Trace Easton, a wonderful pianist. The theme park has all kinds of rides, performances throughout the park, gift shops, restaurants, a train that takes you through some of the park - too popular and we would have had to wait over an hour so we didn't do that.

The scenic photo is an overlook not too far from our RV park. The decorated fireplace is one of several photos I took of the women's restroom. The men's restroom even has a pool table! The photo of the Christmas lights was taken at the Silver Dollar City.

This morning we are moving to a park in West Memphis, which is really in Arkansas, and located right along the Mississippi River - Tom Sawyer RV Park. It is a beautiful location.

BRANSON, MISSOURI - ANDY WILLIAMS

We went to the Andy Williams Christmas show and it was so great. I chose not to see it last year because I wasn't sure how good it would be. But, I was pleasantly surprised that his voice is still strong - maybe even stronger than his younger days. He is 83 and he even did a soft tap dance. He also had some very good guest acts which kept our eyes glued to the stage for almost 2 hours.

In the first photo Andy is singing his famous moon river song - the scenery not only included the moon but a river running down through the set.

10/28-11/11 BRANSON, MISSOURI

Branson had beautiful, sunny, warm weather when we arrived but changed the next day to heavy rains. We left Denver at the right time - they now have a couple feet of snow! We originally planned to stay in Branson for a week but I wanted to catch some of the Christmas shows and would have missed them so we extended our stay for an additional week.

We are staying at the Stage Coach RV Park. It is in a beautiful area outside of town about 5 miles. From our coach we can see out over some of the fall colors still around - probably gone today (still dark as I write this) because of all the rain last night.

LEAVING DENVER, CO

We had a wonderful week in Denver. Spent time with our niece Heather and her husband Chris. We went on a sightseeing trip with them on Saturday - Red Rock, Evergreen and the Tall Grass Spa where she works. We had a wonderful lunch in Evergreen at the Creekside restaurant and weather was nice enough to sit outside (see photo). From there we headed back to Denver and they showed us some of the old victorian houses in the area of the Botanical Gardens. There are parks everywhere in Denver and surrounding area. On Friday Royle and I went on a sightseeing trip through the mountains - went as far west as Vail and then backtracked to Breckenridge and took Highway 9 to 24 which took us to Colorado Springs and then returned to our RV park in Englewood - traveled a little over 300 miles.

We will leave this morning and head for Branson, MO. We plan to be there on the 28th - a fast track through Kansas.

10/18-DENVER, CO

Arrived in Denver yesterday afternoon. Staying at the Flying Saucer RV Park in Englewood. Our niece Heather and her husband Chris had us over for a great dinner last night. We had a great visit. We plan to do lots of sightseeing while we are here. Heather is going to give me a facial on Wed., they will come to our place on Thursday and on Saturday we plan to spend the day sightseeing with them. I forgot my camera last night but will have it with me next time.

10/8-11: Had a great weekend at Tall Chief. Labor Day was the end of the season so it was pretty quiet. No kids around for our grandkids to play with but the weather was beautiful so we spent time at the playground and activity center.

10/12-13: The Cummins shop in Spokane found locally the needed part for our coach. We anticipated it might be difficult to get since it is something that is no longer made. Thank goodness some shop had it on their shelf.

10/14: Spent the night at a nice little RV Park (Jim & Mary's) just a few miles west of Missoula.

10/15: We went to Les Schwab in Missoula for two new front coach tires. Royle had ordered them two weeks ago and then called last night to make sure they were there. When we got all set up for them to be changed, they said they had sent them out to another location because they had not been marked "sold". Patient Royle waited around until they looked all over for our tires. They did finally find them. Only took about an hour for them to get changed and then we headed east again. Spending the night in Garrison, Riverfront RV Park, getting caught up on laundry.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN - 2009/2010

We left Latitude 49 on Thursday morning. We will spend the weekend at Tall Chief Campground, Fall City, WA., and then head for Spokane, WA on Monday morning.

Instead of spending our winter in the SW, we decided to head for North Carolina.
